Mechanic, Electrical

Department: Mechanical
Location: Mooresville, NC

JR Motorsports, a leading NASCAR motorsports operation is seeking a skilled, motivated, and knowledgeable electrical mechanic to install, repair, or replace electrical systems or components of the race car.

POSITION SUMMARY
The qualified candidate will be able to install, remove, repair or replace electrical systems or components of the race car. Responsible for making technical decisions based on knowledge, experience, and direction from Engineering. Responsible for race car and component disassembly, assembly, QC review and fine tuning.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Assemble, disassemble, install, repair, and/or replace electrical components.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and take samples from components for review and inspection.
  • Install, repair, overhaul, adjust, and disassemble electrical harness.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: 4 plus years of experience
Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills.
Other Requirements: Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Ability to travel if needed. Ability to teach others and lead small groups. Thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems. Owning and utilizing personal tools and equipment. Knowledge of measuring tools and calipers. Ability to follow specific and detailed procedure. Strong ability to problem solve. Basic fabrication skills. Prefer basic machining skills.
